cyber attack by bully who says I offended the prophet Mohammed

In The world of Top Asian star Ayi Jihu on October 17, 2009 at 11:26 pm

After the second shoot of the video, I put one of the photos up on my facebook as a profile picture, the photo is of me standing up, hands on my waist in the sexy black outfit, underneath the photo I wrote ‘styled by Raniya Mohammed’.

Not long after I put up the photo, I had many positive comments about the photo, however one person commented on the picture and asked me to remove the name ‘Mohammed’ from the caption because the name fell below my foot, and that it’s disrespectful to put their prophet’s name there. From my point of view I thought that there’s many people named Mohammed, it happened to be my stylist’s, if anything I’m respecting her by crediting her name on the caption, especially after all the hard work she has done, so I gave my thought on that one, wrote to him that I have no intention of disrespecting any religion, I don’t have the control on where the caption is put on facebook, but for now I’ll leave the name there. Unfortunately that was not good enough for this person who then went on to curse me with bad luck, etc.. I don’t have the time and energy to argue with people who have no sense, it’s never been my style, especially when you can tell that they are not willing to see sense. So I just removed him completely from my facebook.

The next thing I know I had a phone call from a friend that someone had been writing crazy things all over my facebook, some Chinese girl, Although I mostly manage my facebook my record company and management are also very much involved and we discussed this latest development. They thought it was some crazy girl looking for some exposure, however deep down I could not help but feel it had something to do with that guy who wanted me to remove the name Mohammed, and I told them so. We eventually found out that they knew each other! Not only did they know each other but this guy (who was offended by the name Mohammed being under the foot of my picture) had many Chinese girls on his site all draped over him while he stood there with play guns and army gear! This girl was obviously one of his disciples, and it was clear to me that this person was used to having young Asian women around him that he could control! He may have made the mistake of thinking that I would also fall under his spell or could also be controlled in the same way. Anyway she commented on about 80 of my photos and even on the posts that my friends and fans had sent me. I had to apologise for causing hassle and stress for my people. I had a lot of people defending me and that was the best thing to come out of all of this. I realise that in this business this kind of thing will happen, people will say a lot of things and it was great for me to see that people stood up for me and I really did not have to say much.

She took a step further by sending nasty personal messages to every single person who has defended me! In the end I reported her along with others, I didn’t bother answering her as her comments were pure evil and did not make sense and showed a very low mental and educational state. To cut a long story it did not end there, several fake I.d’s later and some very nasty messages it all came to an end.

My stylist felt bad that this whole thing started because of her name, and asked me to use her initials in the future, I sat down and thought how could this be her fault? She doesn’t choose who her parents are and her name. It was a shame, because obviously this guy is not carrying a full deck of cards and it can reflect badly on Muslims. We have to have respect other people’s lifestyle, maybe I should have just removed it the first time? But I couldn’t do it without giving my reasons, and I’m sure that we could have come to a much better conclusion if he had not been so rude. I don’t take threats from anyone, Stevie will not tolerate that kind of thing from anyone. I have found that it does not take much for some people to turn on you and facebook seems to be the perfect place for people of no consequence to make their name. I have learnt to be more careful and unfortunately a bit less trusting and also to be grateful for some of my supporters like Adam who watch out for me on places like facebook.

I’m sure these things will happen more in the future, this wasn’t the first time either! That’s just the way it is. But at least I have a taster now, and learning to deal with people like that in the future is important, even though I know I will have people to handle those kind of situations.

Pink boa’s are my playthings

In The world of Top Asian star Ayi Jihu on October 17, 2009 at 11:25 pm

After the successful shooting of the video, my producer had a good look at the product to see what was missing! We wanted to add a bit to add polish to what we had.

For this shoot, we went to a studio in central London where he had more control over the lighting and background and could try some special effects . Raniya styled me with black pencil skirt black vest top high heels for the ‘business look’ with a furry small jacket, black laces gloves, my hair all swept back with a black bow on top and bright lips, when I looked in the mirror, it looked more like the Shanghai styled women, that classic Chinese look with a Chinese dress it’ll be the real Shanghai look! Loved that look, never felt so comfortable with my hair swept back, also with the second scene I shot with all black the ‘dominatrix look’ lol felt confident with hair back and more free to move around!
The whole point of the video and this part in particular is to focus the audience on me and the song and not too much else. The lyrics to the song are strong and I really wanted people to get where I was coming from with it. That is part of the reason we did not put too many people or distractions in the video. I was saying to the producer before we even shot the video that I have watched so many Michael Jackson videos and they are so good you don’t even pay attention to what he is singing about, you are just amazed by the visual aspect. I’m no Michael Jackson but I wanted people to concentrate on what ‘Smak Dat’ is all about and not on dancers, fireworks or anything else, just little me a camera and the song.

We shot the first part with a plain white background, Stevie gave me some ideas on what he thought I could do on certain bits of the track and I put my own ideas to work too, a bit of moonwalk in high heels and some with the Eagle’s cane! It was very hot and sweaty dancing in that furry jacket! I had to call on many sides of my personality, my rapping side too which I love but do not often show! Another scene with just my face on a still camera, black and white so my red lips really stood out, looked amazing. My favourite part was when I was just dancing around, having fun with a pink boa as if I was dancing in front of a mirror in my bedroom, for that scene the background was changed to all black, when I looked back to the scene, it looked absolutely amazing the dark back ground worked so well with the black and white shoot, my red lips and the pink boa really came out perfect, and it showed that I was having fun and being myself. What I hope it shows most though is just me. This video is meant to show some of the different people inside me, but most of all show that I am not afraid.

Finally after a whole day of preparing and shooting, we wrapped up! Thanks to the whole crew that made it all possible! Special thank you to my friend Amy for joining me in the car scenes. I’m not sure if it is the same for everyone but this video took 5 days to shoot just for 3 minutes! I have done TV shows, loads of interviews and things of this nature and it never ceases to amaze me just how many people work for weeks behind the scenes to bring us a few minutes of pleasure. At the centre of all of that was me and at times it feels really weird having all these people run around you, make you up, dress you, feed you drive you around and pamper you. But then I realise that it is because if it works and it is successful it pays for their cars, homes and holidays and it is their livelihood and that makes me want to work even harder and do my best because this is after all a business too.

Late night sensual graffitti wall dancing with Asia’s top star Ayi Jihu

In The world of Top Asian star Ayi Jihu on October 17, 2009 at 11:22 pm

After having two successful shoots of the music video, we hope that the third scene would be just as smooth, most important that we get what we want for the video.

This scene is to be shot in front of a graffiti wall, as you now know Raniya Mohammed is my stylist and once again she did a fantastic job. This time a gorgeous purple dress very well fitted to the body, that dress is very much my style, shows off my curves at the right places! I was styled with long dark hair, big on the top, a very ancient Chinese feel I get, because back in Tang Dynasty, the women’s hair style was very much like that, with long earrings adding the glamour factor, coloured eye make up with red lips, I felt sexy and glamorous.

We arrived at the location very late at night as the whole plan was for it to be shot with a night time moody almost dangerous feel, it was drizzling, but they had thought of that and chose a location under a bridge which sheltered me and the crew from getting wet and ruining the style, perfect timing, not too many people around at that time of night.

I was all over the place, by the time we finished the first shot, my hands were covered in mud and dust, all black, but it was amazing fun! We did a couple of walking scene and a few with just facial expressions. We packed up at almost 2 in the morning and on the way home Stevie saw a location he liked and got everyone out again. I can tell you some people where not too happy lol, but that’s what it’s like with Stevie, he will do anything anywhere anytime if he thinks it will enhance something or make it better.

We finished the scenes late again but we are used to it, felt good that it went well and the fact that we just get on with it. The glamorous style goes very well with the graffiti background, later on looking back at the video clips, Stevie realised that the writing on the Graffiti wall says ‘China’ what a wonderful coincidence! Like it was meant to be, or did he know that all along and that’s why he chose that location. You never know with Stevie!

Till next time.

Girls just wanna have fun – second shoot for my video

In The world of Top Asian star Ayi Jihu on October 17, 2009 at 11:20 pm

The idea of the second scene of the video shoot is to show me have fun with my friends with us holding the camera pointing on ourselves in the back of a car on a night out!

This scene we decided to do it in Cambridge in the familiar places, with one
of my best friend Amy in the car with me. Amy was so excited as we never shot a video together and the fact that she is actually my good friend made it even more exciting and fun! We want the style and look to be fresh and still looking hot by the time we get to Cambridge so as soon as I was styled by my stylist’s Raniya, we drove from London to Cambridge to shoot the scene. I have to say the style Raniya did for me for this scene was definitely one of my favourites! My hair was completely tied back with a long pony tail, black eye make up with heavy eyeliner creating a dramatic look, sexy black one piece bikini with a short skirt and amazing black leather sandals that goes up just below my knees, and a big black leather belt! I felt like a cat woman, sexy and powerful and strong, with a long brown furry coat that made me feel like J Lo!

When Amy saw my new look she was shocked in a good way! As usual she’s looking sexy and beautiful. As it was so late at night, we got in the car, drove around Cambridge with the camera team in the car and following in another car lol.Amy and I were at the back of the car holding one of the cameras doing funny faces and giggling, playing and joking with each other, after one round we let loose more, and we are able to be ourselves like when we are actually on a night out, singing laughing and sweating! Was so much fun and lots of jokes. We ended up stopping in the town centre, and I shot a couple of dancing scenes there by myself, again out in public, but not many people around and those that were just stood and watched.

The shoot ended about 1am in the morning, again it went pretty smoothly, and not too much drama! Another successful shoot and everyone is smiling! Thanks to Amy, Raniya and Stevie and the whole crew!

Getting a bit naked on the London subway

In The world of Top Asian star Ayi Jihu on October 17, 2009 at 11:19 pm

We are planning to shoot the music video for my new song ‘Smak Dat’ which was recorded back in Hong Kong earlier this year, i’m very excited as this would be my first official video shoot for my very own song.

We have several scenes in our minds that we wanna do, the next thing is to have different styles for different locations, as this is my first official music video, we want it to looking amazing and show me in different styles and images to give the best to my fans who have been waiting too see this video, as you can imagine, I’m filled with excitement especially since we started working with my stylist called Raniya Mohammed, she has been extremely helpful working on developing my style, image, the new Ayi Jihu. She keeps coming up with new idea and looks for me, hence the new Ayi with fringe and a bob, and absolutely loving it.

The first scene we planned to shoot on the tube in an empty carriage with me dancing and singing. This scene I was styled in a slick and sexy white dress, with open back, long curly black hair with strong eye make up and a dark lip colour. It happened to be on a day of the Notting hill carnival, luckily it wasn’t so cold though I still wore a jacket to cover myself up! We chose a time that wont be too many people on the tube, where I can have some what kind of privacy otherwise it’ll make the shoot very difficult, as im walking around with close to nothing in bright day light, but to be honest I wasn’t so much concerned about that, I was in the mood to have some fun!

We managed to get on an empty carriage, to make the shoot work without anyone disturbing we had to shoot it quick, so as soon as we got on the tube, we started shooting, dancing around the carriage, sweating and laughing, some awkward dancing but we got what we wanted pretty quickly, everyone is happy, we took the chance to take photos with that amazing style on the underground, I could see people looking and wondering, it didn’t bother me, we came out with what we wanted and plenty of amazing photos! This shoot went pretty smooth, now we can prepare for the next shoot. Now I think back I could’ve never done it like this a year or two back!
